Quality & Sustainability

Global Goals, Local Action

Aligned with United Nations Sustainable Development Goals.

SHARLU actively supports the UN’s blueprint for a sustainable future. Our commitment is visible in our daily operations:

Responsible Manufacturing

At SHARLU, we believe industrial success is inseparable from the well-being of our people and the protection of our environment. We lead with a zero-compromise approach to safety, ethics, and sustainability.

Our Sustainability Pillars

We follow a structured and transparent equipment rental process to ensure you get the best machinery quickly and efficiently, helping you maintain project timelines and avoid downtime.

Environmental Stewardship

We aim to reduce our environmental footprint by minimising waste, conserving natural resources, and managing greenhouse gas emissions through energy-efficient infrastructure, such as our dual-fuel steam boiler.

Social
Responsibility

We promote a culture of respect, diversity, and community support. Our "people-first" approach ensures that those manufacturing our products are protected by the highest industrial standards.

Economic
Viability

We ensure our business is financially sustainable and ethically transparent, providing long-term value for our partners while contributing to the regional economy.

Quality Assurance: Consistency by Design

Our commitment to quality is ingrained in our mission. Every batch produced in our Sharjah plant must pass through our ISO/IEC 17025:2017 accredited laboratory before it leaves our facility. This ensures that our sustainable practices never come at the expense of product performance or reliability.

Sustainability and sustainable lubricants

At Sharlu, we are committed to sustainability and believe that a sustainable business is essential to our long- term success. We recognize that our business operations have an impact on the environment, society, and the economy, and we strive to minimize this impact while creating value for our stakeholders. In sustainable lubricant manufacturing, sustainable lubricants support a greener future through sustainable practices across the value chain and a life-cycle approach that helps facilitate a circular economy in lubrication practices.

Our sustainability strategy is centered around three pillars: environmental stewardship, social responsibility, and economic viability, with circular economy thinking built into our sustainable lubrication approach and sustainable lubrication practices through reducing waste, less waste, responsible sourcing from renewable sources, careful use of raw materials, recovery of used lubricants, and renewed base oils such as re refined base oils. We aim to reduce our environmental footprint by minimizing waste, conserving natural resources, and reducing greenhouse gas emissions. We also aim to promote social responsibility by respecting human rights, promoting diversity, and supporting the communities where we operate. Finally, we strive for economic viability by ensuring our business is financially sustainable, transparent, and ethical. This includes moving away from traditional lubricants toward sustainable alternatives made with renewable inputs, natural renewable lipids, vegetable oils, and synthetic esters as bio-based feedstocks, while replacing crude-oil distillation with renewed feedstocks and re-refined waste oils to maintain high performance and help minimize environmental impact. Bio-based lubricants are gaining popularity because they have a lower environmental footprint than traditional mineral oils.

We believe that sustainability is not just the right thing to do, but it is also good for business. By using renewable inputs, circular technologies, and energy-efficient factory systems to reduce carbon output, we can reduce our costs, improve efficiency, and create new business opportunities. Choosing lower viscosity or thinner synthetic formulations can improve energy efficiency, lower energy consumption, support better performance, extend service life, and lead to less downtime and lower maintenance costs. Technological advancements and selecting the right lubricants also help with reducing emissions and lowering emissions while improving high performance in extreme temperatures for industrial operations. Techniques such as esterification and hydrogenation further improve thermal stability and oxidative resistance. Crude-oil-based regular lubricants can pollute soil, air, and water and pose risks to wildlife and human health. By promoting social responsibility, we can enhance our reputation, attract and retain talented employees, and build stronger relationships with our customers and stakeholders. And by ensuring economic viability, we can create long-term value for our shareholders while contributing to the sustainable development of the communities where we operate.

In addition, sustainable packaging and responsible lubrication processes help reduce pollution, limit the effects of lubricant loss, and support less waste across the value chain. These products are designed to break down naturally, do not accumulate in nature, and are less toxic to plants and animals.

At Sharlu, sustainability is not just a goal; it is a mindset that guides our decisions and actions every day. We are committed to making a positive impact on the world and creating a sustainable future for generations to come. Through sustainable lubrication and eco friendly choices, we help build a greener future.

HSE (Health, Safety and Environment)

At Sharlu, we are committed to ensuring the health, safety, security, and environmental well-being of our employees, customers, contractors, and the communities in which we operate. We believe that a strong HSE performance is essential to our business success, and we are dedicated to continuously improving our HSE management systems and practices.

We adhere to the highest HSE standards and best practices, complying with all relevant laws, regulations, environmental regulations, industry standards, and environmental standards. Our HSE policies are designed to prevent accidents, incidents, and injuries, protect the environment, and promote a safety culture throughout our organisation.

We provide comprehensive HSE training to all our employees to ensure they are equipped with the knowledge and skills to work safely and responsibly. Written procedures also help retain lubrication knowledge and maintain efficiency over time. We conduct regular audits and assessments to identify areas for improvement and implement corrective actions to address any issues promptly.

We work closely with our customers and stakeholders to ensure we meet their HSE requirements and expectations, and we strive to be a responsible company by minimising our environmental impact and contributing to the communities where we operate. Selecting the right lubrication products helps maintain machine efficiency and reduce unnecessary waste. Premium options can reduce downtime, lower maintenance costs, and improve overall performance over the long term. A good maintenance schedule for lubricant changes also helps avoid unnecessary waste and downtime.

At SHARLU, HSE is not just a priority, it is a core value that guides our actions and decisions every day.
